Things that the Boy loves...

The Boy is at such a fun stage right now. He loves so many things. He gets so excited about certain things. I wish you all could get to know him...he has such a wonderful personality!! I thought I would share a few things that he loves with you. Make sure to scroll down through this page, as I have made quite a few entries today! Enjoy!

...pumpkins...

After going to The Pumpkin Patch, the Boy fell in love with pumpkins!!! He would get so excited (still does) when he saw a pumpkin..."Punkin!! Punkin!!! Punkin!!" He loves to "draw" pumpkins with his crayons and he LOVES pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting!

...Jim Gill...

During our last trip to Illinois, Annie and Kevin took the Boy and I to a Jim Gill concert where these pictures were taken. Click here to see Jim's website. We now have two of his CD's...so we dance and sing all day! Very silly music!

...basketball...

He loves basketball!!! He's not quite tall enough to dunk...just yet...but there's a good chance he will since he is 36" tall at 21 months!

...to chill...

Sometimes, Fowler wants to find a comfy spot to simply chill. On this day, (Clay and Michelle's wedding) the comfy spot was his jogging stroller.

...to dip...

He loves to dip his food! He'll dip anything in BBQ sauce, ketchup, ranch dressing, or salsa. I'll have to make some hummus and see how he likes that (I am sure that he'll love it since he is related to Grandmother!!)

...football...xbox...

He loves watching and/or playing football. He also loves playing football on the xbox with his Daddy...and with his cousin, Jacob (in the picture above).

...reading...

He loves BOOKS! He reads everywhere...in the big black chair, his bed, the car seat, in your lap or IN A BOX! Children's books are usually a big hit with him...but he has been seen recently walking around the entire house with his nose buried in a cookbook (Grandma Yoder's Dutch Country Cookbook, if you're wondering)...reading at the top of his lungs! :) It really is too cute!

...and drums!

Fowler has quite the imagination...anything and everything in his world will eventually become a drum or drum stick. Drums, marching bands and flags (check out this photo) are major LOVES for this boy!

Long Over-Due Posts!!

Our summer (like everyone else's) has been busy and I haven't been very good with posting pictures. We have so many fun pictures, it's hard to know which ones to post. Last night and this morning, I posted a "hodge podge" of pictures. I hope you enjoy them!
By the way, I became an aunt for the 10th time in July! An aunt to 5 girls and 5 boys now! Holli and Josh had their 5th baby girl, Evon Lilian! Click on Evi's name to see the precious girl!

Shopping Satisfaction

Fowler and I popped into an antique/thrift store last week...and here is some of what we found (I told Mom I would post them). I love the canisters! The small one in the front (with floral design) was made in England. And red floral (short)was made in Holland! I also found lots of vintage buttons!! Oh how I love buttons! I have plans to use them on handbags, flower pins...so many ideas! There is also a blue floral pillow case in the back of the picture which I plan to use (in combination with other fabrics) for a handbag. Of course, we couldn't leave the store without something for Fowler. We found an abacus (he has no idea what it is right now...but he sure has fun playing with it!) and some books! This is my type of shopping satisfaction!!!

A Little Fruity!

Fowler loves fresh fruit! He devours blueberries, strawberries, bananas, watermelon, peaches, kiwi...uh, you name it, he probably loves it!

Squeaky Clean

As you can imagine, Fowler can get pretty dirty. With these HOT HOT days (sweat, sweat, sweat!) and living in the country, it is nearly impossible to keep Fowler clean. But here he is all squeaky clean...smelling like lavender...and happy about it!!!

Summer Fun!

Another cute one of Fowler with sidewalk chalk!

Humpty Dumpty....

My little Humpty Dumpty had a great fall! These are before & after pictures of Fowler the day of his big fall down the stairs of our front porch. Luckily, he wasn't hurt too badly...just bruised a bit. But he remembers it!! When he walks near the stairs or when he sees these pictures, he says, "UH-OH!!"

Craft Loop Entertainment

Fowler likes to play with these craft loops! Most people use them to make potholders or necklaces...but he likes to put them on his feet! Not sure where he got that from but they sure keep him entertained. I have been bringing them to church to keep him occupied!

Pastor Dewayne

Late this summer, Dewayne began as interim (6 months)pastor at a local church. This sign welcomed us on our first Sunday there! It is a small, but extremely friendly, country church. Fowler is the only child...so, of course, he gets lots of lovin'!

Pop and the boys!

Pop, Kevin and Fowler at church on Father's Day! It worked out nicely that J.C. & Alison's wedding was Father's Day weekend...so, we were able to kill two birds with one stone!

A Place to Create...

Last Friday, Fowler and I went thrifting. We have yet to be super successful at this since we moved to Rattlesnake Country! ;) But this was our big find...an art center!!! Fowler enjoyed showing it off to Daddy when he came home from work. This week, a lot of time has been spent with chalk, paper, crayons and finger paint! I'll share a creation of Fowler's in a later post. We are getting ready for our weekend trip... for Alison's Wedding and of course, Father's Day with Pop!

A Day in the Park

It was another beautiful day here...so, we packed our bag and headed for the park!! It was good timing on our part...Daddy was able to meet us for lunch.

Otis and Trudy are visiting our neck of the woods for a few weeks. We went over to Nana and PahPah's tonight to welcome them and to have supper together. Fowler had Trudy's undivided attention...and Dewayne and Otis enjoyed chatting on the deck (the picture's a little dark). A nice day.

Sidewalk (or Deck) Chalk Fun!

We have been blessed with beautiful weather over the past few days. Today, we had fun with sidewalk chalk on the deck. I did most of the drawing...but Fowler enjoyed "coloring in." Since Daddy found a huge snake skin (pictured above)in the back yard, we have been spending most of our time on the front deck...out of the grass!!!

Rattlesnake Country!!!

Well, this isn't a rattlesnake...but I still don't like it!!! This is one of two snakes that decided to check out the prayer garden @ ERRC...while the ladies were planting monkey grass!!! This is the snake that didn't make it...death by shotgun!!! The other one...well, we are pretty certain it was a rattlesnake (by the way, the are very common around here)....but of course he got away!

A Second Birthday Party!

No...Fowler hasn't turned two already! :) This past weekend, Fowler got to have another birthday party! Aunt Marge and Uncle Jim came down from Illinois to celebrate (they have another nephew in Kentucky who was celebrating his first birthday, too)!! Fowler enjoyed more cupcakes, more gifts and hanging out with Marge and Jim! We had a great time with them...and they got to try out my new recipe (courtesy of Pastor H.Wayne!!!)...Cowboy Casserole! Yee Haw!!! Click here to try it out, ya'll!!!

Happy First Birthday, Fowler!

On February 11, Fowler had his 1st birthday!! We threw a little party for him...a basketball theme! Fowler loved his basketball cupcake! He ate the whole thing, along with some ice cream! Like a typical one year old, he thought it would be cool to put some of it in his hair and ears...and even got some on his feet!!! I think he had a very nice birthday...lots of fun!

Basketball Mania!

Aunt Annie and Cousin Kevin got Fowler his own basketball goal and ball! He still has quite a way to go on his shot...but he's an awesome rebounder for Mama and Daddy! He will chase after the ball and "throw" it back to you. If he wants to play, he'll sit in front of the goal holding the ball up in the air toward the hoop! It's so cute! Get ready, Fighting Illini...Fowler has started his training!

Curious George Comes to Town!!!

We went with Annie and Kevin to see the new Curious George movie for Folwer's birthday! It was so cute! Fowler did pretty well (we went to the 7:45pm show). He also got the Curious George soundtrack for his birthday.

Annie and Kevin

Aunt Annie and Cousin Kevin came to visit during the birthday weekend celebration! We had a great time with them. Fowler watched Kevin intently...and followed his every footstep! Kevin can even carry Fowler all by himself now!!! That's pretty good...Fowler weighs 27 lbs!

First Snow

This was our first real snow of the year! Isn't it pretty? A great photo opportunity!

Piano Man

Fowler loves music!! He likes to play musical instruments, sing and dance! (By the way, as some of you already know, Fowler's favorite TV show is Dancing with the Stars! He dances througout the entire show while talking to the TV!) Anyway, these pictures were taken at Nana and PahPah's. Fowler made his way to the piano and started putting on a concert for us!

Biker Babe

Just playing around with a doo-rag!

Fowler's Clubhouse

Fowler is growing out of his clothes and toys so quickly! One day, I had a big cardboard moving box in his room...packing up jeans that are now "high-waters" and shirts that show his mid-riff! Fowler fell in love with the box! He was banging on it with his hammer and trying to climb onto it! So, I decided we would make a clubhouse for him! He likes to crawl inside, taking a book and his teddy bear, Ba-boo! The clubhouse ROCKS!

Fowler's First Haircut!

Here is Fowler's first haircut back in January! It was actually just a hair-trim...to take care of the "wings" just above his ears. Fowler was content...chomping on crackers the whole time. Doesn't he look handsome? And so much older!

Little Drummer Boy

Just after Christmas, we went to Illinois for a few days. Fowler took a liking to his cousin Kevin's drum set. We were all impressed with his drumming capabilities! Later on (when I am feeling more adventurous), I will try to post the video for you all to enjoy!
